Why I Chose IKEA

To practice seamless transition motion graphics, I needed a subject that met several requirements. First, the objects and brand system had to be modular and recombinable. Second, I needed easy access to real-world references. Third, the brand had to communicate a clear, recognizable message. IKEA was the most suitable choice because it satisfied all of these conditions.

Storyboard Sketching

'Together'

Divided into 2 sections.
Section 1, uses seamless transitions to highlight IKEA’s brand value of enabling flexible interior concepts through modular furniture combinations.
Section 2, follows a couple building a shared space through IKEA furniture.

Rather than simply showcasing the products, focuses on the user narrative made possible by the brand’s value.

Character Design

Character Rigging

Used 'Duik Bassel' and 'Joysticks & Sliders'. To achieve smooth joint motion, I added circular overlap shapes at the intersections to prevent off-shaping during rotation. However, because the character was designed in simliar tones, same-color overlaps reduced clearity. Added an outline that appears only when layers overlap, ensuring clear separation when parts intersect.
